Withdrawing a proposal
Taking a proposal back, what your client sees, and what happens to a signature in progress.

Open the proposal, use the menu at the end of the header, and choose Withdraw proposal. The client's link stops working straight away. A draft you never sent says Discard draft instead, which does the same thing to something nobody has seen.
What the client sees afterwards
Anyone opening the link finds a page saying the proposal is no longer available. They are not told why, and no email goes to them, so if the reason matters to the relationship, tell them yourself before you withdraw it.
If they had started signing
A client who has accepted and is part-way through signing loses that too. Withdrawing voids the signing link, so a half-finished signature cannot be completed, and the page they are on stops working when they next try to continue.
The confirmation says so before you press it, because this is the one case where withdrawing reaches something the client has already begun.
Once it is accepted, it cannot be withdrawn
A proposal your client has signed is a signed engagement letter, and nothing can take that back. The option is not offered. If the work is not going ahead, that is a conversation and a new document rather than an undo.
What is kept
The proposal itself stays. Its status pill reads Cancelled, and its wording, its fees, its dates and its full history stay readable to you for as long as you keep the account. Only the client's access goes.
Withdrawing cannot be undone from the app. If you want the same quote back in front of the client, build a new proposal, which you can do from the same client's record.
What it does to your allowance
Nothing. A proposal is counted against your monthly allowance the moment you send it, and withdrawing it later is not a refund. See Allowances, and what happens when you reach one.
