Upgrading, downgrading and cancelling
How to change what you pay for, and what happens to your documents.
Last updated
Start on Settings › Billing & plan. The grid in the middle of that screen lists every plan, and each card carries its own button: Your current plan on the one you are on, Upgrade to or Downgrade to on the others, and Contact sales where a plan is priced per organisation. You need to be an owner or an administrator.
Pressing one takes you to Cecur Home, which is where billing across all your Cecur products lives. CecurSign never charges anyone itself: it reads the plan you are on and applies it. The figures on each card, and the choice between monthly and annual billing, are the same ones on the pricing page.
Upgrading
Choose the plan, complete it in Cecur Home, and the new allowances follow into CecurSign. If you have just paid and the screen still shows the old plan, reload it. If it still has not moved after a minute or so, tell us.
The most common reason to upgrade is a meter, and the billing screen says which one: a band inside the Usage panel names the limit you have reached or are approaching, and the plan that raises it. If nothing is under pressure, no band appears.
Downgrading
The same grid, the same route. What to check first:
- Volume. From the start of the next period your allowances are the new plan's: how many documents you may send for signature, and how many proposals. See Allowances, and what happens when you reach one.
- People. If your team is larger than the new plan allows, decide who comes off before you move rather than after.
- Capabilities. Anything the new plan does not include stops being available. Custom branding is the one people notice first: your signing pages and recipient emails go back to the CecurSign default look.
Cancelling
Cancellation is done in Cecur Home, from the same Billing & plan screen: Go to Cecur Home, at the foot of the page under Invoices and payment details.
What happens to your documents
Nothing is deleted when you downgrade or cancel.
When a subscription ends, the account becomes read-only rather than being switched off. You can still sign in, open everything you have sent, and download every signed document, certificate and evidence pack you have. What you cannot do is send anything new, or change anything.
Anyone already part-way through signing a document you sent can still finish it. A signing link does not depend on your billing.
Choosing a plan lifts the read-only state and you can send again. Both the billing screen and raising a support ticket stay available throughout, on purpose, so you are never locked out of the two things you might need.
Invoices, receipts and card details
All in Cecur Home, not in CecurSign. The Invoices and payment details panel at the foot of the billing screen has the link. Payment methods, invoices and cancellation are handled there because they cover every Cecur product you use, not only this one.
Currency
We bill in euro and in sterling. The plan grid quotes the currency your account is billed in where we know it, and offers both with a toggle where we do not. An existing subscription stays in the currency it started in, so if you need it changed, ask us rather than assuming the toggle will do it.
