Nobody can book a time with me
No times on offer, a slot taken while somebody was booking it, and clients in another time zone.
Last updated
Nearly every booking question is one of three: no times are being offered, two people wanted the same slot, or a client is reading times in another zone. Each has a short answer.
Your booking page offers no times
Work down this list. The Overview tab under Bookings shows the first three at a glance in its Booking setup panel.
- Working hours. If you have never set them, your links have nothing to offer. Open Availability and set them. See Setting the hours people can book.
- The link is on offer. A booking link that has been taken down says the meeting is not available. Open Booking links and look for a Not on offer badge, then Put back on offer.
- Your calendar connection. If Google has stopped accepting the connection, your page shows no free time rather than the wrong free time, and Bookings carries a notice with Reconnect calendar. See Showing Cecur Book your own calendar.
- The settings on the link itself. On When it can be booked, a long Shortest notice and a short Booking window can between them leave almost nothing: two days' notice on a page that only shows three days ahead is one bookable day. Gaps before and after eat into a tight day as well.
- Date overrides. Check the Hours tab for a day you closed and forgot. An override replaces the weekly hours for that date rather than adding to them.
- Your own calendar. With Google connected, meetings already in the calendars you ticked block times. A full week genuinely is a full week.
To see what your client sees, open your own booking link in a private browser window.
Somebody says they were refused the time they picked
The time went to whoever confirmed first. The page tells them so, reloads what is free and asks them to pick again, so nothing was double-booked and nothing was lost but the choice.
If it keeps happening on a popular slot, the usual fix is a shorter Shortest notice or a wider Booking window on that link, so there is more to choose from.
You were booked over something you already had
Cecur Book blocks only the meetings it has been shown. With no calendar connected it knows about Cecur Book bookings and nothing else, so anything in your own calendar leaves its time on offer.
Two answers, and you can use both. Connect Google Calendar, which is the real fix. Until then, keep your working hours narrower than your actual day so there is room for what it cannot see. See Showing Cecur Book your own calendar.
A client is in a different time zone
The booking page shows every time in the client's own zone, picked up from their device, with the difference from yours named on screen. They can change it from Time zone above the calendar if they are booking for somewhere else.
Their confirmation states the time in their zone, and yours states it in yours, so the two emails about one meeting can honestly say different clock times. The meeting is the same moment. Open the meeting in your diary and Their timezone tells you where they are, which is often the difference between somebody being late and somebody being an hour out.
Your own working hours are written in the zone on Availability, Schedule settings. Changing that zone moves your hours rather than converting them, so change it if you have moved and use date overrides if you are only travelling.
Nothing here fits
Take the details from the meeting in your diary, or the booking link's address if nobody got as far as booking, and raise a ticket from Support in the menu. Do not send us the booking address on its own if it is a calendar subscription address, because anyone holding one of those can read your diary.
