Your booking address and your booking links
Claim the address your links start with, then create a link for each kind of meeting.
Last updated
A booking link is one kind of meeting somebody can book with you: how long it runs, how much notice you need, and what you want to know before it starts. You can have as many as you have kinds of meeting. Each one has its own web address, and they all start with your booking address.
Claim your booking address first
Go to Settings, then Scheduling defaults. The panel at the top is Your booking address.
Type a short name in Handle: lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens, three characters or more. Your own name is the usual choice. As you type, the line underneath says whether it is free. It has to be different from everybody else's on CecurSign, not just from your colleagues'.
Press Claim this handle and confirm. Two things to know before you do:
- It is shown back to you in lower case, and that is what your links will read.
- It cannot be changed afterwards, by you or by us. Links you have already sent sit in other people's inboxes and calendars, and they have to go on working.
Once claimed, the panel shows the address itself with a copy button. That address on its own lists everything you are offering.
Create a booking link
Open Bookings, then the Booking links tab, and press New booking link. Three things:
- Name, what the client sees. "30 minute intro call" tells them more than "Meeting".
- Link ending, the last part of the address. It follows the name until you change it, and then stays as you left it.
- Length, how long the meeting runs.
Press Create. The link is live straight away, as long as you have working hours set.
The address to send
Each booking link shows its own address with a copy button, on the Booking links list and again at the top of the link's own page. That is the one to put in an email, an email signature or on your website.
Changing one
Click the name to open it. Four tabs:
What it is. The name, the link ending and a Description shown to the client under the name. Say what the meeting is for and what to bring. Changing the link ending breaks any copy of the old address that is already out there, including one in an email signature, so change it early or not at all.
When it can be booked. These narrow your working hours and never widen them, so a time outside your availability is never offered whatever is set here.
- Length, how long it runs.
- Schedule, the working hours it is offered inside. Leave it on My default schedule and it follows whatever that becomes.
- Gap before and Gap after, time kept clear either side, so nothing lands back to back.
- Shortest notice, how far ahead the earliest bookable time has to be. Measured from the moment the client opens the page, so it never offers a meeting starting in ten minutes.
- Booking window, how far into the future the page shows. It rolls forward with today, so it never runs out.
- Start times, how often a meeting may start. Leave it on the meeting length and a 30 minute call is offered on the hour and the half hour.
What you want to know. The questions on the booking form, asked in the order you list them. Name and email address are always collected, so there is no need to ask for them again.
Who we remind. Covered in Booking emails and reminders.
Changes are saved from the bar that appears at the foot of the screen while you have unsaved edits. The booking page uses them from the next visit.
Taking one off offer
Take down in the header stops the link offering times. Anyone opening it is told the meeting is not available. Meetings already booked through it are untouched and still happen. Put on offer puts it back.
Use that rather than deleting whenever you might want it again. It is also what to reach for when you are away.
Deleting one
Delete in the menu at the end of a row removes the link for good, and anyone holding the old address finds it no longer works.
A link with meetings booked through it cannot be deleted, and the message says so: take it down instead, which keeps those meetings in the diary.
