Chasing a client about a proposal
Send a reminder from the proposal, including to a client who started signing and stopped.

Open the proposal and press Send reminder in the header. Your client is emailed about it again, with their own link. If they have already accepted and are part-way through signing, the button reads Remind signer instead and sends them straight back into the signature they left.
When the button is there
Send reminder appears while the proposal reads Sent or Viewed, which is to say the client has it and has not decided.
Remind signer appears while it reads Signing. That is a client who accepted, opened the engagement letter, and stopped before the last step. It is the most worthwhile chase there is, because the decision is already made and only the signature is missing.
Neither appears once the proposal is accepted, declined, expired or withdrawn. There is nothing left to chase.
What your client receives
A Sent or Viewed proposal gets an email about the proposal, carrying the same link they had before. A proposal in Signing gets the signing link, which reopens the letter exactly where they left it, with anything they had already filled in still there.
Nothing about the proposal changes when you remind. The wording, the fees and the deadline are the ones you sent.
Reminders that go out on their own
You do not have to remember. A proposal that has been sent and not answered is chased for you three days after it went out, then a week after, then a fortnight after. If you set a Valid until date, there is one more two days before it, so the last word your client hears is that the offer is about to close.
To keep those from stacking up with your own, a reminder is never sent within 48 hours of the last one. Press the button inside that window and it tells you when the next one can go.
Where else you can chase from
Home gathers anything that has gone quiet into Needs your attention, and each row carries a Remind button. A proposal that was accepted and whose signature has not been finished appears there too, saying how many days it has been waiting, with Remind signer on the row.
If the button refuses
The message says which of these it is:
- A reminder went recently. Wait for the window to pass, or send the client link yourself with Copy client link.
- The proposal has moved on. It has been accepted, declined, expired or withdrawn since the page was loaded. Refresh it to see where it actually is.
- The signature is already finished. The proposal will catch up with itself shortly; refresh the page and it will read Accepted.
- It is marked as lost. Reopen it first if you want to chase the client again.
- The client has no email address. Add one to the client's record under Clients, then try again.
