Putting your branding on what clients see

Your logo, your colour, and where each of them appears.

Last updated

Two things carry your branding: a logo and a brand colour. They appear on the pages your recipients see when they sign, in the emails your recipients receive, and on the engagement letters your clients are sent. You set both on Settings › Branding, which needs an owner or an administrator.

Under Logo, Click to upload your logo. CecurSign accepts PNG, JPEG and WebP images, up to 350 KB.

That is a generous ceiling for a logo and a tight one for a photograph, which is deliberate: the same file is placed at the top of every engagement letter, and a large image there costs every client who opens one. A PNG with a transparent background, around 400 pixels wide, is the right shape and will normally be well under a tenth of the limit. The logo is displayed small, in a header, so a wide wordmark works better than a tall stacked one and fine detail is lost either way.

Once one is saved you get Change logo and Remove logo beside it. Removing asks for confirmation and puts you back to your company name shown as text, which is what appears when there is no logo at all.

If the screen says the logo was saved but could not be loaded, the file is stored and something is stopping it being fetched. Tell us, rather than uploading it again.

The brand colour

Under Brand Colour, either use the colour square, type a hex value such as #3B82F6, or take one of the Quick picks. Button preview underneath shows a real button in it, and Reset to default puts back the CecurSign colour.

It is used for buttons and accents, so choose something with enough contrast against white for white text to be readable on it. A very pale brand colour makes the button someone has to press hard to see.

Where they appear

  • The pages your recipients see when signing. Your logo sits in the header beside your company name, and your colour is on the buttons and accents.
  • The emails your recipients receive. The request to sign, and the messages that follow it.
  • The engagement letters your clients are sent. Your logo becomes the letterhead at the top of the document, and your colour is used for its headings and rules.

The Signing Page Preview at the foot of the branding screen shows the header exactly as a recipient will see it, which is the quickest way to check a logo before you send anything real.

What deliberately does not carry your branding

Account and security email keeps CecurSign's own identity: the welcome message, address verification, password resets and team invitations. Those are messages about the account itself rather than about your document, and a request to reset a password should look like it came from the service it is for. That is a deliberate boundary, not a setting you have missed.

Your company name is separate

The name shown beside your logo comes from Settings › Company details, along with your registered address and company email. Those are available on every plan and are not part of branding. Editing them there changes the name in the preview here.

If the branding screen offers you an upgrade instead

Custom branding is not on every plan. When it is not included, the screen shows a notice in place of the editor rather than controls that would do nothing. Settings › Billing & plan shows what your account includes and which plan adds it. See What each plan includes.

Until then, your signing pages, recipient emails and engagement letters use the CecurSign default look, and your company name and details still appear on them.

Saving

Changes commit from the bar at the foot of the screen: Save changes, or Discard. A logo upload is immediate and does not wait for that.
