Setting up your account
The setup checklist, what each item unlocks, and the quick start cards on Home.
Last updated
A new account arrives with almost nothing filled in: a name, and not much else. Setup is a launcher pinned to the corner of every screen, telling you what is left to do and taking you straight to it.
Where to find it
Look for the Setup button in the bottom-right corner of any screen after Home, showing how many items are done out of the total. Press it to open the list. Each item you have not finished yet is a link: press it, do the thing, and come back. The count updates the moment you return, because it is worked out from your account each time rather than ticked off by hand. Delete your only saved signature, for example, and Save a signature shows as unfinished again.
The launcher only appears while something is left to do, and only for as long as you leave it there. See Dismissing it, below.
The items, in order
Add your company details. Your company name, registered address and company email, filled in on the company profile screen. These appear on engagement letters and are required before a proposal can be sent, so this is one of the two items marked Required. Only an owner or administrator can complete it.
Turn on proposals for yourself. Shown only on an account that includes proposals. Access to proposals is granted per person rather than by role, so that using them at all is a deliberate decision rather than something that comes with a job title. This item grants it to yourself from Settings → People, and it is the other item marked Required: everything else about proposals is out of reach until it is done. Only an owner or administrator sees this item.
Upload your logo. Shown on the signing page every recipient sees, and in the emails you send them. Optional, and only an owner or administrator can complete it.
Save a signature. Lets you sign your own documents without drawing one out each time. Recipients can always draw theirs at the point of signing regardless. Optional, and open to everyone.
Send your first document. The whole thing end to end: a document sent for signature, with its audit trail and certificate once it comes back. Optional, and open to everyone.
Send your first proposal. Shown once proposals is turned on for you. Quote for a piece of work from your service catalogue; accepting it is what signs the engagement letter. Optional, and open to anyone with proposals access.
If your account does not use proposals, you will not see the proposals items at all, and the list is shorter. If you are not an owner or administrator, the items that belong to company-wide settings are left out too. What is left for you personally, saving a signature and sending something, is worth doing regardless.
When it disappears
Once every item is complete, the launcher stops appearing. There is nothing to press and nothing left over.
Dismissing it
Open the launcher and press Dismiss to close it before you are finished. This is for when you have decided you do not want to do one of the optional items, such as a logo, and do not want to be reminded again. It stays closed after that.
The other starting point: Home
The top of Home carries the same starts in card form: Write a proposal, on an account that uses them, Send for signature and Self sign, each with a sentence saying what it does. They are always there and are not part of the setup list, because they are how you begin a piece of work on any day, not only your first one. The same three are always available from the Create menu in the top bar too. If you know them well enough not to need the cards taking up the space, press Customise and turn off Show quick start; see Reading your dashboard.
